LIBRARY ORIENTATION
To promote maximum utilization of the resources, facilities, and services of the library, a guided library orientation for new students, faculty members and employees is conducted at the beginning of every semester. During the said orientation, the rules and regulation of the library is also explained.
PHOTOCOPYING AND PRINTING SERVICES
Facilities for making copies of library materials are available for a fee. Printing services are available at the Internet Multimedia Research Room in all TIP libraries. All these are done in accordance with the Philippine Copyright Law.
INTERNET SERVICES
Computer units are available in the Multimedia Internet Research Room of each library for browsing the net and CD-ROMs. The Internet facility is strictly for research purposes only.
INTER-REFERRAL SERVICES
TIP students who wish to research in other institutions must secure a referral letter. The researcher must provide the following information:
- Date applied
- Date of visit
- Place to visit
- Address
- Name
- Course
- Subject / Topic
REFERENCE AND INFORMATION SERVICES
TIP Quezon City and TIP Manila (P. Casal Campus and Arlegui Campus) Libraries provide reference and information services during library hours. Inquiries may be made in person, over the telephone, or through e-mail.
Direct instruction and assistance are given to library clients regarding the use of reference and information resources of the libraries. This service aims to satisfy all reasonable requests for information through use of library resources, the internet, inter-library loans and referrals.
ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOG (OPAC)
This is a computerized catalog that replaces the traditional card catalogue. Browsing terminals are provided for searching the library's collections. It allows faster searching and gives wider search options by simply typing the author, title or subject on the Library Search Catalog.
BIBLIOGRAPHIC SERVICES
TIP libraries offer research assistance to its clients by providing advice on bibliographic and citation styles. This service includes compiling bibliographies upon request by the faculty members, students, and employees.
CURRENT AWARENESS SERVICES
The Library Bulletin of New Acquisitions and the Table of Contents of the newly received journals are disseminated regularly to faculty members and students.
As part of its current awareness services, the Library displays information materials on topics of current interest or events for the information of the school community.
INSTRUCTIONAL MEDIA SERVICES
The Multimedia, Internet, and Research Section keep a collection of audiovisual materials such as videocassettes, slides, transparencies, CD-ROMs, and other non-print materials. The abovementioned materials and equipment are used in the Audio Visual Room of the libraries.
