T.I.P. wins Best Paper Award in Malaysia

The paper entitled “Dynamics Affecting the Development of a Sustainable Principled Workplace Culture” by Engr. Jaypy Tenerife and Dr. Angeles de Guzman of the Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.) recently won the Best Paper Award during the FGIC 1st Conference on Governance and Integrity, 2017 at the University Malaysia Pahang.

Organized by the Governance and Integrity Centre (FGIC), Faculty of Industrial Management of the University of Malaysia Pahang, and carrying the theme “Innovation & Sustainability through Governance,” the two-day conference aimed to examine the issues and challenges faced by both the public and private sectors in inculcating good governance and integrity in their respective industry.

T.I.P. Strategic Manager and International Relations Officer Engr. Jaypy Tenerife flew to Malaysia, representing himself and College of Business Education Dean Angeles de Guzman, to present their paper, which highlighted the importance of the sustainability of a developed principled workplace culture in strengthening an organization.

The winning paper synthesized gathered data from various organizational unit heads in the Philippines including leaders from the academe, religious congregations, private corporations, and government and non-government agencies. Its aim is to contribute to the existing body of knowledge in the area of ethics and culture in business.

There were a total of 40 papers accepted for paper presentations with participants coming from various countries, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Pakistan, and India. Engr. Tenerife and Dean Angeles’ research paper bested five (5) other papers shortlisted for the Best Paper award.

On that same trip to Malaysia, Engr. Tenerife was joined by T.I.P. instructor and former T.I.P. Inhinyera Club officer, Engr. Romalyn Galingan to present in the same conference another paper entitled “Leadership and Integrity in Education,” which she co-authored with Engr. Tenerife and Dr. Joemy Lopez, T.I.P. Quezon City Business Administration program chair.
