MOVING UP
The challenge before us here in TIP, at this point, is how to keep moving the school towards even higher levels of quality and excellence in teaching, research and development, and extension service to produce the best student outcomes for industry, country and the world.
One objective is to convert our five Centers of Development from the CHED into Centers of Excellence.
TIP is fully committed to the accreditation process as we aim to achieve Level IV accreditation for at least two of our engineering programs and eventually, institutional accreditation. At this point, 100% of TIP’s qualified programs are accredited.
TIP is continually improving the quality of all its offerings in the fields of engineering, architecture, information technology education, business education, maritime education and teacher education.
TIP is leading the way in teaching, research and development, and extension service through innovation and closer linkages with industry through industry advisory boards.
The key to TIP’s program of continuous quality improvement is Outcomes Based Education (OBE). The heart of the TIP-OBE, in turn, is focused on teaching and learning (OBTL), which TIP embarked on in 2009.
The next step in our striving for excellence and making our graduates globally competitive is to submit ourselves to international accreditation, which is mostly outcomes-based.
Along its thrust of Outcomes-Based Education, TIP will cap its 50th anniversary celebration by hosting an international conference on Outcomes-Based Teaching and Learning (OBTL) on February 16-17, 2012 at its Anniversary Hall, TIP Quezon City Campus. The leading lights in OBTL, Prof. John Biggs and Dr. Catherine Tang, are key speakers in the conference.
